Afina-Dos

In 2022, Tomás and Dani met while pursuing their master’s degrees at the University of North Texas. They instantly bonded over their affinity for Brazilian jazz and discovered they had an uncanny musical connection. A Spotify Blend playlist showed them that while their musical instincts lined up around 98% of the time, they had sharp disagreements on the remaining 2%. Inspired by this revelation, they recorded their duo EP, “Two Percent.” This 2% difference sparks artistic tension that makes their performances exciting and keeps them and their audiences on their toes. Their collaboration won them a 2024 Downbeat SMA for Outstanding Latin Group Performance.  With their passion for music and decades of experience, they bring a dynamic and intimate performance to every stage. Tomás and Dani, known as Afina-Dos, will be touring Guatemala in March 2025 for the IGA Guatemala Jazz Festival.
